Contractor checks in for Durham student accommodation

Developer Whitesmocks has appointed Caddick Construction to build the 232-bed Melbury Court student accommodation scheme in Durham city centre.

The development will comprise purpose-built living spaces designed to meet demand for student accommodation in the city and wider region.

Steve Ford, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction North East & Yorkshire, said: “The scheme at Melbury Court represents a significant investment in high-quality student accommodation, and demonstrates continued confidence in the city’s thriving higher education sector.

The Melbury Court scheme is expected to be completed in summer 2027.
