Contractor appointed for Enniskillen health and wellbeing hub

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has appointed Graham as its main contractor to finalise the design for the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum redevelopment.

The health and wellbeing hub in Enniskillen will include an eight-lane swimming pool, a separate learner pool and splash pad area, gym facilities, as well as community and multi-purpose spaces.

Built to the highest environmental and sustainability standards, the hub, which was awarded £20 million from the UK Government’s Levelling UP fund, will be the first Passivhaus leisure centre in Ireland.

Outdoor facilities will include a 3G sports pitch; cycling, walking and running trails, and pedestrian links to Enniskillen town centre.

Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor John McClaughry, said: “The overall proposal to redevelop the site has been designed to benefit local people and the wider district by creating new opportunities for leisure and recreation, health and wellbeing, tourism, and the local economy.”

Jonathan Hall, Managing Director – Building South at Graham, said: “We’re pleased to have been selected through Pagabo’s major works framework to finalise the design of the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum.

“This project will push the boundaries of environmental sustainability, by creating a state-of-the-art facility to enhance local health and wellbeing.”
