BCSA’s painting of constructional steelwork training course is a must for professionals
To help educate supply chain professionals who have responsibility for protective and intumescent coatings, the British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) is running a bespoke training course.
The Responsible Coatings Professionals course has been developed by the industry, with endorsements from a variety of associated companies as well as The British Coatings Federation.
Focusing on subjects and processes relevant to steel fabrication, its protective coatings and fire protection, the course delivers everything a coating applicator, specifier or inspector needs to consider when undertaking their role.
Adopting key European Standards, the four-day course covers key topics such basic corrosion theory, fundamentals of protective coatings (including fire protection), quality control theory and practice, coating specifications, and hands-on experience of surface preparation and spray painting.
Class sizes are kept to under 12 delegates, ensuring that all participants have practical experience of using all of the test instruments relevant to structural steelwork.
In addition, there is a practical session where all delegates have the opportunity to blast and paint a steel panel to a given specification, and then test it to see if it meets the requirements. The course concludes with a test and upon successful completion, a certificate is awarded to demonstrate competence and aptitude.
The next course dates are 2-6 February 2026. To find out more, visit: https://qrco.de/bgQ8T3
