Work starts on West End mixed-use scheme

Main contractor Bovis has commenced work at St Giles Quarter, a major mixed-use development in central London, following the successful completion of the pre-construction phase.

Located close to the British Museum, St Giles Quarter comprises of One Museum Street, a 19-storey office block alongside new and restored residential buildings, retail space and enhanced public realm.

The office block, which is targeting BREEAM ‘Outstanding’, will provide 15,800m2 floor space, as well as landscaped and biodiverse terraces.

David Cadlot, Bovis CEO, said: “St Giles Quarter is an outstanding project and we’re delighted to have been appointed by Simten to deliver it.

“We have been working closely with them and the wider project team through the pre-construction phase, and that early collaboration has given us a strong platform to move into delivery and bring this ambitious scheme to life.”

Mike Rayner, Simten Director, said: “This scheme will create a distinctive new mixed-use destination in the heart of the West End. We look forward to working alongside our investors, Bovis and the wider project team as construction begins.

St Giles Quarter is due to be complete by June 2029.
