Park Sittingbourne, the project is located close to the M2 motorway and consists of approximately 85,000m2 of warehousing and distribution\u00a0space, split across two units, for supermarket chain Morrisons<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Atlas Ward Structures, which was responsible for all steelwork design and fabrication, has erected more than 2,700t of steelwork for the project.<\/p>\n<p>Sustainability is playing a key role in the development of the site\u00a0and although early enabling works included a large earthmoving and cut and fill operation, no excavated material left the site.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>All overburden was used to create new wildlife ponds and grassland areas to replace drained areas of the site.<\/p>\n<p>A number of cutting edge\u00a0sustainable features are being incorporated into the project such as kinetic plates on estate roads, which will generate power from vehicles passing over them.
