The 45-storey 8 Canada Square steel-framed tower in the heart 
of the London Docklands estate could be transformed if a 
multi-million-pound scheme gets the go-ahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning proposals, which include reconfiguring the upper 
levels into landscaped terraces, have been submitted by 
Canary Wharf Group and the building\u2019s owner Qatar 
Investment Authority to the local council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While\u00a0some\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0office\u00a0floors<\/mark><\/a>\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0retained,\u00a0much\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0
former\u00a0bank\u00a0headquarters\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0converted\u00a0into\u00a0a\u00a0181-room\u00a0
hotel<\/mark><\/a>,\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0upper\u00a0floors\u00a0accommodating\u00a0restaurants\u00a0and\u00a0
leisure\u00a0facilities<\/mark><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Named the Cloud, levels 42 and 43 would be radically altered 
in order to create a publicly accessible rooftop venue, which
