The South Molton scheme, which is redeveloping a large area of London\u2019s Mayfair district, has celebrated the steelwork topping out for its two office blocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requiring 2,300t of structural steelwork, the two eight-storey office blocks<\/a> at 60 Brook Street and 56 Davies Street, comprising 6,596m2<\/sup> and 7,246m2<\/sup> respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, the scheme will deliver new shops<\/a>, cafes and restaurants, alongside two office blocks, residential properties<\/a>, a restored pub and a boutique hotel<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working on behalf of main contractor Skanska and main clients Grosvenor and Mitsui Fudosan, Severfield fabricated<\/a>, supplied and erected <\/a>the steelwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The office buildings are separated by a small thoroughfare known as Davies Mews (closed throughout the construction programme) that bisects the site from east to west.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the completed scheme, Davies Mews will become a lively street, served by some of the numerous retail outlets and restaurants accommodated within the ground floors of both office buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as retail, and food and beverage outlets, the ground floors in each building will also incorporate the main entrance lobbies for the office floors, which occupy every floorplate from level one upwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AKT II Associate Director Simone Colella, said: \u201cOne of the reasons for choosing a steel-framed method for the project was the need for a lightweight solution, because we are building above the Elizabeth Line underground tunnel.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
