{"id":45413,"date":"2026-05-06T11:11:47","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T11:11:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=45413"},"modified":"2026-05-06T11:11:53","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T11:11:53","slug":"steelwork-installation-starts-on-ferrybridge-logistics-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/steelwork-installation-starts-on-ferrybridge-logistics-site\/","title":{"rendered":"Steelwork installation starts on Ferrybridge logistics site"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Ferrybridge260506e.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Ferrybridge260506e.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Ferrybridge260506e.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Ferrybridge260506e-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Working on behalf of specialist industrial and logistics developer Mountpark, GMI Construction has started steelwork installation on the former Ferrybridge C Power Station site in West Yorkshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Known as Mountpark Ferrybridge, the scheme has secured planning consent for over 150,000m<sup>2<\/sup> of industrial, storage and <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Single_storey_industrial_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">distribution space<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first unit to be built is a 6,100m<sup>2<\/sup> distribution facility pre-let to Warburtons, while a second unit, being built speculatively, will provide 3,700m<sup>2<\/sup> of floor space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hambleton Steel is <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Fabrication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fabricating<\/a>, supplying and <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Construction#Steel_erection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">erecting<\/a> the steelwork for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both buildings are targeting <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Single_storey_industrial_buildings#BREEAM_for_industrial_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BREEAM<\/a> \u2018Outstanding\u2019 and EPC A\/A+ ratings. <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Single_storey_industrial_buildings#Sustainability_2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sustainability<\/a> features will include roof-mounted photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brett Huxley, Development Director UK and Ireland at Mountpark, said: \u201cSeeing real progress at this stage of construction is a key moment for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe strong momentum on site reflects the continued demand for high-quality, sustainable logistics space in strategically located markets.
