Smith, the Sheriff of Southampton, Councillor Pat Evemy, and the Students\u2019 Union President, Emma Brown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 15,000m<sup>2<\/sup> building, named B75 to celebrate 75 years since the University was granted a Royal Charter \u2013 will form part of the University\u2019s new North East Quadrant on its Highfield Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Education_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">building<\/a> is arranged into four distinct parts; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Braced_frames\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">two steel-framed <\/a>blocks and two concrete blocks. Bourne Steel is <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Construction#Steel_erection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">erecting<\/a> 625t of steelwork for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Mark E. Smith said: \u201cThe North East Quadrant symbolises our dedication to creating innovative and inspiring learning environments for our current and future students.
