{"id":44761,"date":"2026-02-11T11:57:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T11:57:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=44761"},"modified":"2026-02-11T11:58:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T11:58:14","slug":"new-crewe-base-for-cheshire-police-force","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/new-crewe-base-for-cheshire-police-force\/","title":{"rendered":"New Crewe base for Cheshire police force"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Cheshire-police260212.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Cheshire-police260212.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44762\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Cheshire-police260212.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Cheshire-police260212-300x135.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Designed by architects Corstorphine and Wright and being delivered by main contractor Willmott Dixon, work has started on a \u00a314 million net-zero carbon Crewe Deployment Base for Cheshire Constabulary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new policing hub will house around 300 staff, who will be on call 365 days of the year, providing the force with better access to the whole of the local policing area, the strategic road network and access into Crewe town centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supporting the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Sustainability\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sustainability<\/a> ambitions, the new base will be <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Operational_carbon#UKGBC_Net_zero_carbon_buildings_framework\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">net zero carbon<\/a> in operation and will include sustainable methods of construction including permeable paving, rainwater harvesting as well as a green wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To celebrate the start of work, Willmott Dixon hosted a ground-breaking ceremony with Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire Dan Price, and Connor Naismith, MP for Crewe and Nantwich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dan Price, said: \u201cModern policing needs modern infrastructure. This net-zero project in Crewe delivers on my commitment to modernise our policing estate, creating a smarter, sustainable working environment for officers. It\u2019s an investment in the future of policing in Cheshire and I can\u2019t wait to see the progress over the next year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark Roberts, Chief Constable at Cheshire Constabulary, added: \u201cThis is a further positive development in bringing our estate up to date.
