Main contractor Murphy has been awarded the multi-million-pound contract from National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) to construct a new substation<\/a> at Uxbridge Moor in Buckinghamshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located close to NGET\u2019s existing Iver substation, the new facility will help meet the significant increase in demand for electricity to the west of London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project includes the delivery of a 400kV and a 132kV substation, ancillary facilities, underground cabling and associated modification works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connecting the site to the A412, the work also includes a new 1.2km-long raised access road, which will consist a road bridge<\/a> over River Alder Bourne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
