Manchester City Football Club and main contractor Sisk have held a topping out ceremony to acknowledge the final steel element being installed, and the \u00a3300 million Etihad Stadium<\/a> expansion project reaching its highest structural point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On completion, the project will increase the stadium\u2019s capacity to over 60,000 with an enlarged North Stand, while a new covered 3,000-capacity fan zone, more food and beverage outlets, and a museum will improve the match day experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with Radisson, the development also includes The Medlock, a 401-room hotel<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manchester City Football Group\u2019s Chief Operating Officer, Roel de Vries, said: \u201cThis is a proud moment for Manchester City and for everyone involved in the project to create a year-round entertainment destination at the Etihad Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe delivery of this project will enable us to enhance and expand our offering to our fans and visitors, to create lasting long-term economic and social benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leader of Manchester City Council, Councillor Bev Craig, said: \u201cThis is a major infrastructure investment which will create and support hundreds of jobs, adding to the remarkable regeneration of East Manchester, in which the club has played a constructive role.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expanded North Stand will open during the 2025-26 football season, while the project\u2019s other facilities are scheduled for completion by the end next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
