{"id":40571,"date":"2024-06-10T16:23:16","date_gmt":"2024-06-10T16:23:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=40571"},"modified":"2024-06-12T14:53:09","modified_gmt":"2024-06-12T14:53:09","slug":"groundbreaking-for-net-zero-carbon-development-in-darlington-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/groundbreaking-for-net-zero-carbon-development-in-darlington-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Groundbreaking for net zero carbon development in Darlington"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/n1.2-Darlington2406.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/n1.2-Darlington2406.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40572\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/n1.2-Darlington2406.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/n1.2-Darlington2406-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Main contractor Winvic and Greenbox have celebrated, with a groundbreaking ceremony, the start of construction for a new net zero carbon <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Single_storey_industrial_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">logistics park<\/a> in Darlington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Developer Greenbox is a joint venture between Partners Group, a leading global private markets firm and Citivale, a specialist logistics developer and operator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work on the 24-acre Greenbox Darlington site, comprising three speculative industrial facilities totalling 37,300m<sup>2<\/sup>, will be complete by the end of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three units will each include <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Multi-storey_office_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">office<\/a> space and the entire development is aiming to achieve a <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Single_storey_industrial_buildings#BREEAM_for_industrial_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BREEAM<\/a> \u2018Excellent\u2019 and EPC A ratings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is located on the A66, close to three junctions on the A1(M). It is said to be a proven manufacturing hub and \u2018last mile\u2019 location to the major urban areas of the North East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alex Reynolds, Development Director at Citivale, said: \u201cHaving acquired this planning-ready site at the end of 2023, in a thriving industrial and manufacturing area of the North East, it\u2019s great to have been able to move so quickly to this first milestone in the development.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caunton Engineering is <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Fabrication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fabricating<\/a>, supplying and <a href=\"https:\/\/steelconstruction.info\/Construction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">erecting<\/a> the steelwork for the project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Main contractor Winvic and Greenbox have celebrated, with a groundbreaking ceremony, the start of construction for a new net zero carbon logistics park in Darlington.
