{"id":38736,"date":"2023-09-27T11:03:40","date_gmt":"2023-09-27T11:03:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=38736"},"modified":"2023-09-27T12:55:16","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T12:55:16","slug":"latest-first-street-phase-to-provide-excellent-offices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/latest-first-street-phase-to-provide-excellent-offices\/","title":{"rendered":"Latest First Street phase to provide Excellent offices"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/First-Street230928.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"402\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/First-Street230928.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-38737\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/First-Street230928.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/First-Street230928-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Working on behalf of BAM Construction, Elland Steel Structures is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Construction#Steel_erection\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Construction#Steel_erection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">erecting<\/a> 1,700t of steelwork for the latest First Street development in Manchester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Known as Plot 9 and aiming to achieve a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/BREEAM\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/BREEAM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BREEAM <\/a>\u2018Excellent\u2019 rating, the project is a nine-storey commercial structure designed by Jon Matthews Associates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located on the site of the former Gaythorn Gas Works, First Street has emerged over the last 10 years as one of Manchester\u2019s most vibrant new neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located alongside Medlock Street, one of Manchester\u2019s main routes into the city centre from the south, the development combines cultural facilities, a hotel, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Retail_buildings\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Retail_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">retail units<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Residential_and_mixed-use_buildings\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Residential_and_mixed-use_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">residential blocks<\/a> as well as extensive public realm, making it one of the prime mixed-use locations in the city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plot 9 will be the first net zero carbon office building on the estate. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Sustainability\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Sustainability\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sustainability<\/a> and wellbeing are top of the agenda as the structure\u2019s office floorplates will be complemented by integrated winter gardens on all floors, a roof terrace and extensive external landscaping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Described as one of Manchester\u2019s finest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Multi-storey_office_buildings\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Multi-storey_office_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">office buildings<\/a>, the Government Property Agency (GPA) has taken a 25-year lease on the entire building, which will accommodate around 2,500 staff.
