One of the capital\u2019s most popular attractions, the Emirates Air Line<\/a> <\/a>has completed 13 million journeys and is now seeking a new sponsor as its 10-year partnership with the Middle Eastern airline is due to expire next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cable car, which opened in the summer of 2012 as part of TfL\u2019s preparations for that year\u2019s London Olympic and Paralympic Games, crosses the River Thames and has complemented major regeneration in both the Royal Docks and the Greenwich Peninsula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supported by three steel towers, two of which are 90m tall, the cable car travels 1.1km between its two termini. In all, more than 1,100t of structural steelwork was needed for the project, all of which was fabricated<\/a>, supplied and erected<\/a> by Severfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Josh Crompton, TfL\u2019s Head of the Cable Car, said: \u201cOur cable car is unique to London and it provides spectacular views for those wanting to cross the Thames to get to the Royal Docks or Greenwich Peninsula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
