{"id":30390,"date":"2020-04-08T10:03:40","date_gmt":"2020-04-08T10:03:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=30390"},"modified":"2020-04-08T10:03:40","modified_gmt":"2020-04-08T10:03:40","slug":"tata-steel-launches-new-hollow-sections-design-app-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/tata-steel-launches-new-hollow-sections-design-app-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Tata Steel launches new hollow sections design app"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/nTataApp2004.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30373\" src=\"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/nTataApp2004.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/nTataApp2004.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/nTataApp2004-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a>Tata Steel, in partnership with the Steel Construction Institute, has launched a new and fully revised app version of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/The_Blue_Book\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018Blue Book\u2019<\/a> software tool, which is now available for structural engineers to download for free.<\/p>\n<p>Developed to aid structural engineers, the new Celsius\u00ae Structural Hollow Sections Design app includes Tata Steel\u2019s entire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Steel_construction_products#Structural_hollow_sections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">structural hollow sections range<\/a>, including square, rectangular, circular and elliptical hollow sections, and incorporates comprehensive section property data for key products.<\/p>\n<p>The app automatically calculates the available steel section sizes, based on a project\u2019s specific loading requirements, and allows the user to efficiently assess alternative specifications, saving valuable time.<\/p>\n<p>According to Tata Steel, the new app helps to improve accuracy, providing results based on actual effective lengths input by the user. App users can also apply filters, such as specifying a maximum or minimum size within the calculation, making it easier to further control the information provided.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Whitfield, Manager \u2013 Structural Tubes at Tata Steel, commented: \u201cIn this digital era, we knew that we wanted to create a valuable, efficient and user-friendly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Design_software_and_tools\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">design tool,<\/a> all qualities that I believe we have achieved with our Structural Hollow Sections Design app \u2013 the all-new, essential guide for the design of steelwork.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The app is now available to download for free from the app store on either Apple or Android.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tata Steel, in partnership with the Steel Construction Institute, has launched a new and fully revised app version of its \u2018Blue Book\u2019 software tool, which is now available for structural engineers to download for free.
