Designs for a \u00a3100M redevelopment of Crompton Place Shopping Centre and Victoria Square in Bolton have been revealed by Bolton Regeneration<\/span><\/strong>, a partnership between Beijing Construction & Engineering Group International and Midia. The plans include the construction of a 110-bedroom hotel<\/a>, 150 homes<\/a>, a 7,500m\u00b2 office block<\/a>, and a mixed-use retail, leisure, dining and events space, dubbed Bolton Works, alongside improved public realm. The completed scheme would be named Bolton Victoria Square.<\/p>\n

Laing O\u2019Rourke<\/span><\/strong> has been appointed as preferred contractor to deliver Everton FC\u2019s new 52,000 capacity stadium<\/a> at Bramley Moore Dock on Liverpool\u2019s waterfront. A pre-construction services agreement for a design<\/a> and build contract is due to be signed after a competitive procurement process. Work on the new stadium is expected to start later this year, subject to planning consent, and is expected to take three years.<\/p>\n

VINCI Construction<\/span><\/strong> has secured a \u00a327M design and construct project for Staffordshire University for the new Catalyst Building, which will become a flagship centre for apprentices and digital skills. The university said the state-of-the-art facility will support students to study flexible degrees that meet their needs, those of employers and help students secure highly-skilled jobs.<\/p>\n

Balfour Beatty<\/span> <\/strong>has been appointed main contractor for a new regional transport integration hub at Motherwell station, with work set to begin this year.
