{"id":29712,"date":"2019-11-20T10:51:24","date_gmt":"2019-11-20T10:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=29712"},"modified":"2019-11-20T10:51:24","modified_gmt":"2019-11-20T10:51:24","slug":"contract-awarded-for-scotlands-largest-health-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/contract-awarded-for-scotlands-largest-health-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Contract awarded for Scotland\u2019s largest health centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29706\" src=\"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/scotland-health-centre191121.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/scotland-health-centre191121.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/scotland-health-centre191121-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>BAM Construction has been appointed by hub West Scotland to build Scotland\u2019s biggest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Healthcare_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">health centre<\/a> in Parkhead, Glasgow.<\/p>\n<p>North East Health Centre, located on Salamanca Street, will be delivered on behalf of NHS Greater Glasgow &amp; Clyde and Glasgow Health &amp; Social Care Partnership, and will accommodate 900 staff, bringing together a number of community health services currently located at nine different sites.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00a335M <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Single_storey_industrial_buildings#Design_.26_Build\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">design and build<\/a> contract will feature a three-storey building, accommodating 10,000m\u00b2 of clinical, support and training space and car parking.<\/p>\n<p>The hub will provide GP surgeries, a pharmacy, specialist children\u2019s services, district nursing, health visitors, social work services, older people\u2019s mental health services, learning disability services, sexual health services; addiction services, meeting rooms and a caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>BAM Construction Regional Director Bruce Dickson said: \u201cWe are delighted to be part of the team delivering this visionary health hub.\u00a0This is a model example of the future provision of health services moving away from a hospital setting to a community based location which is readily accessible with good transport links.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Designed by Hoskins Architects, work will commence on site in summer 2020 and will be delivered in phases with a scheduled completion in early 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BAM Construction has been appointed by hub West Scotland to build Scotland\u2019s biggest health centre in Parkhead, Glasgow.
