{"id":27609,"date":"2018-12-18T11:00:51","date_gmt":"2018-12-18T11:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=27609"},"modified":"2018-12-18T11:00:51","modified_gmt":"2018-12-18T11:00:51","slug":"improved-fire-protection-coating-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/improved-fire-protection-coating-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Improved fire protection coating launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27602\" src=\"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Hempel181120.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Hempel181120.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Hempel181120-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Leading coatings manufacturer Hempel has launched its new passive fire protection (PFP) coating, Hempafire Pro 315 which has been developed for steel structures.<\/p>\n<p>The company claimed that this fast-drying product has been designed specifically with versatile application properties for improved efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Hempafire Pro 315 has been optimised for 60 minutes cellulosic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Structural_fire_resistance_requirements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fire protection<\/a> and provides some additional protection for up to 90 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Hempafire Pro 315 is said to be suitable for all steel profile types \u2013 from thin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Steel_construction_products#Structural_hollow_sections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hollow sections<\/a> to large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Steel_construction_products#Standard_open_sections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">open columns and beams<\/a>. This simplifies the specification process and reduces stock and operational costs.<\/p>\n<p>Hempel&#8217;s Group Product Manager, Cellulosic PFP, Roger Soler, said: &#8220;Hempafire Pro 315 is quick and easy to apply offering significant efficiencies to applicators \u2013 whether in the shop or on-site. Due to its lower loadings and thinner film thicknesses, Hempafire Pro 315 significantly reduces drying times improving paint shop efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a high-build coating, Hempafire Pro 315 can also be applied up to 1,600 microns in one coat, which means almost all steel sections can be covered with just one layer of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Fire_protecting_structural_steelwork#Intumescent_Coatings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">intumescent coating<\/a>.
