The project will reinvigorate the existing and outdated steel-framed building, which was built in the 1980s. Approximately 50% of the original frame has been kept and a new steel frame<\/a> is being knitted into the space vacated by the demolished structure.<\/p>\n The new steelwork will also provide the building with four extra floors, a curving fa\u00e7ade<\/a> and revamped public realm.<\/p>\n The building will feature an array of sustainable features that complement the significantly reduced carbon footprint<\/a> associated with the reuse<\/a> of the structural frame; it is expected to receive a BREEAM \u2018Excellent\u2019 rating<\/a>.<\/p>\n Working on behalf of main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, William Hare is fabricating<\/a>, supplying and erecting<\/a> the steelwork.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Work is progressing on the 100 Liverpool Street project which forms part of the wider Broadgate redevelopment scheme in the City of London.
