Approximately 50% of the original frame has been kept and a new<a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Braced_frames\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> steel frame<\/a> is being knitted into the space vacated by the demolished structure.<\/p>\n<p>The new steelwork will also provide the building with four extra floors, a curving <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Facades_and_interfaces\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fa\u00e7ade<\/a> and revamped public realm.<\/p>\n<p>The building will feature an array of sustainable features that complement the significantly reduced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Sustainability#Embodied_carbon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">carbon footprint<\/a> associated with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Recycling_and_reuse#Reuse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reuse<\/a> of the structural frame; it is expected to receive a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Sustainability#Understanding_BREEAM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BREEAM \u2018Excellent\u2019 rating<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Working on behalf of main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, William Hare is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Fabrication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fabricating<\/a>, supplying and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Construction#Steel_erection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">erecting<\/a> the steelwork.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Work is progressing on the 100 Liverpool Street project which forms part of the wider Broadgate redevelopment scheme in the City of London.
