Structural Metal Decks (SMD) says that it has followed up on its 2016 launch of roof deck profiles with a new floor deck product for the UK market.<\/p>\nStructural Metal Decks (SMD) says that it has followed up on its 2016 launch of roof deck profiles with a new floor deck product for the UK market.<\/p>\n
The company claims its long-span profile TR220 metal decking<\/a> product augments the\u00a0existing range\u00a0and follows on from SMD signing an exclusivity agreement with an overseas manufacturer for the product which can span up to 6m.<\/p>\n The TR220 product is said to offer designers an alternative to pre-cast planks<\/a>, and has been specifically designed for car parks<\/a> or buildings where space uninterrupted by supporting beams or columns is required.<\/p>\n SMD Technical Director Jamie Turner said: \u201cWe are spanning the gap in our product range. This will open up a whole new sector of the market and allow us to provide an even more comprehensive service.<\/p>\n \u201cThe TR220 will complement and not compete with our existing products as it provides a different solution \u2013 one we have been seeking to introduce for some time.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cThe TR220, because of its span, is often used on the lower two floors of high-rise buildings and is an engineering solution we haven\u2019t previously been able to offer.<\/p>\n \u201cIt will enable us to tender for whole building contracts whereas previously our opportunities may have been restricted to upper levels of this type of project.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Structural Metal Decks (SMD) says that it has followed up on its 2016 launch of roof deck profiles with a new floor deck product for the UK market.
