{"id":24738,"date":"2017-09-07T09:46:49","date_gmt":"2017-09-07T09:46:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=24738"},"modified":"2017-09-07T09:46:49","modified_gmt":"2017-09-07T09:46:49","slug":"steel-completes-at-west-london-school-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/steel-completes-at-west-london-school-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Steel completes at west London school"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24718\" src=\"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/nWestLondonSchool1709.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/nWestLondonSchool1709.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/nWestLondonSchool1709-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Elland Steel Structures has completed the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Construction#Steel_erection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> steel erection<\/a> for the \u00a325M Nishkam School in west London.<\/p>\n<p>Working on behalf of main contractor BAM Construction, Elland Steel has installed precast staircases, 7,500m\u00b2 of 200mm-deep <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Floor_systems#Precast_units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">precast flooring<\/a>, structural roof decking and 570t of structural steelwork.<\/p>\n<p>The new school, which will include a sixth form, will provide places for 1,400 pupils.<\/p>\n<p>Architecturally, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Education_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">school<\/a> is set over two and three-storeys, with four wings radiating from a central hub.<\/p>\n<p>The project also includes a four-court sports hall, two dining halls, main assembly hall, and a central faith area with an ETFE dome.<\/p>\n<p>An extensive solar array on the roof will allow it to meet the requirements of the London Plan, which is a strategic plan for the capital setting out an integrated economic, environmental, transport and social framework<\/p>\n<p>There will be electric charging points in the car park, and the football field will be used for storm attenuation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elland Steel Structures has completed the steel erection for the \u00a325M Nishkam School in west London.
