{"id":24693,"date":"2017-09-06T14:16:26","date_gmt":"2017-09-06T14:16:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=24693"},"modified":"2017-09-06T16:20:40","modified_gmt":"2017-09-06T16:20:40","slug":"first-stores-open-at-bracknell-lexicon-shopping-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/first-stores-open-at-bracknell-lexicon-shopping-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"First stores open at Bracknell Lexicon shopping centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24694\" src=\"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Lexicon170907.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Lexicon170907.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Lexicon170907-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Marks &amp; Spencer\u2019s [M&amp;S] new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Braced_frames\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">steel-framed<\/a> 7,400m\u00b2 department store is the first shop to open at Bracknell\u2019s \u00a3250M shopping complex.<\/p>\n<p>Known as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/The_Lexicon,_Bracknell,_Berkshire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Lexicon<\/a>, the scheme is a shopping and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Leisure_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">leisure destination<\/a>, which is said to offer a vibrant mix of brands and experiences and a high-quality mix of shops and venues connected in a pedestrian-friendly environment.<\/p>\n<p>The project is set to reinvigorate a large swathe of the new town, as the local authority begins a large regeneration project.<\/p>\n<p>Phase one of the scheme consisted of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Construction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">construction<\/a> of a steel-framed Waitrose that was completed in 2011. Acting as one of the anchors for the overall scheme, this structure was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Fabrication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fabricated<\/a>, supplied and erected by Billington Structures.<\/p>\n<p>Phase two, which kicked off on site in 2015 covers an area of 60,000m\u00b2 and comprises two department stores (including M&amp;S), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Retail_buildings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">retail units<\/a>, restaurants and cafes, a 12-screen <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Leisure_buildings#Theatres_and_auditoria\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cinema<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Car_parks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">multi-storey car park<\/a> and 92 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Residential_and_mixed-use_buildings#Residential_buildings_in_urban_areas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">apartments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Working on behalf of Mace, Severfield fabricated, supplied and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Construction#Steel_erection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">erected<\/a> 4,200t of steel for phase two.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of Lexicon\u2019s phase two is scheduled to open during the next two weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marks &amp; Spencer\u2019s [M&amp;S] new steel-framed 7,400m\u00b2 department store is the first shop to open at Bracknell\u2019s \u00a3250M shopping complex.
