{"id":23598,"date":"2017-03-08T10:50:01","date_gmt":"2017-03-08T10:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=23598"},"modified":"2017-03-08T10:50:01","modified_gmt":"2017-03-08T10:50:01","slug":"chelseas-stamford-bridge-revamp-approved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/chelseas-stamford-bridge-revamp-approved\/","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea\u2019s Stamford Bridge revamp approved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23600\" src=\"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Chelsea170308.jpg\" alt=\"Chelsea170308\" width=\"600\" height=\"271\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Chelsea170308.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Chelsea170308-300x136.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has approved Chelsea Football Club\u2019s plans for a state-of-the-art \u00a3500M stadium on the site of their existing Stamford Bridge ground.<\/p>\n<p>Plans for the new stadium will see Chelsea\u2019s match-day capacity increase from 41,600 to 60,000 and will include the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Construction\" target=\"_blank\">construction<\/a> of an elevated walkway over the nearby District Line, linking the stadium to Fulham Broadway station.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Khan said he was satisfied the new stadium was a &#8216;high-quality and spectacular design&#8217; which would significantly boost capacity for the Premier League club.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cLondon is one of the world\u2019s greatest sporting cities and I\u2019m delighted that we will soon add Chelsea&#8217;s new stadium to the already fantastic array of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Leisure_buildings#Stadia\" target=\"_blank\">sporting arenas<\/a> in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving taken a balanced view of the application, I\u2019m satisfied this is a high-quality and spectacular <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Design\" target=\"_blank\">design<\/a> which will significantly increase capacity within the existing site, as well as ensuring fans can have easy access from nearby transport connections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m confident this new stadium will be a jewel in London\u2019s sporting crown and will attract visitors and football fans from around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new stadium, which has been designed by architects Herzog and de Meuron, will contain a substantial about of structural steelwork.
