The high potential risk of the structure demanded that the work had to be carried out within stringent radii <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Accuracy_of_steel_fabrication#Fabrication_tolerances\" target=\"_blank\">tolerances<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Barnshaws\u2019 Commercial Director Greg North said: \u201cThe scale of the project demanded a large cold <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Fabrication#Bending\" target=\"_blank\">bending<\/a> capacity, which was a capability Barnshaws was able to provide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can cold bend sections from 6mm to 660mm diameter in a very tight radii due to our focus on research, development and investing in modern machinery on site.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Salford Arch is expected to generate \u00a35M for Salford City Council over ten years, with local government hailing the new structure as a \u2018landmark\u2019 for the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Metal fabrication and bending specialist Barnshaws Section Benders has contributed to the construction of what is said to be the UK\u2019s first purpose-built digital advertising arch.
