{"id":21236,"date":"2016-02-11T12:37:09","date_gmt":"2016-02-11T12:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=21236"},"modified":"2016-02-11T12:37:09","modified_gmt":"2016-02-11T12:37:09","slug":"oxford-technology-park-gets-go-ahead-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/oxford-technology-park-gets-go-ahead-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxford technology park gets go ahead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21231\" src=\"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/nOxford-park1602.jpg\" alt=\"nOxford-park1602\" width=\"600\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/nOxford-park1602.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/nOxford-park1602-300x207.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Joint developers Hill Street Holdings and Bloombridge have secured planning permission for a \u00a390M <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Braced_frames\" target=\"_blank\">steel-framed <\/a>technology park in Oxford.<\/p>\n<p>The UMC-designed Oxford Technology Park will create 40,000m\u00b2 of research and development space at Kidlington on the northern outskirts of the city.<\/p>\n<p>The park will comprise two Grade A, three-storey buildings with office, research and development and innovation space, plus a range of two-storey research and development buildings.<\/p>\n<p>According to UMC, all of the buildings have been designed as steel-framed structures for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/The_case_for_steel#Speed_of_construction\" target=\"_blank\">speed of construction<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/The_case_for_steel#Flexibility_for_changing_times\" target=\"_blank\">flexibility<\/a> and in order to create the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Long-span_beams\" target=\"_blank\"> long spans<\/a> required in the research spaces.<\/p>\n<p>Hill Street Holdings CEO Angus Bates said: \u201cOxford Technology Park will deliver top quality office and R&amp;D space for businesses of all sizes, set within 20 acres of landscaped grounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach unit will be modelled as a bespoke unit and we are able to offer \u2018design and build\u2019 solutions to suit individual occupiers.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joint developers Hill Street Holdings and Bloombridge have secured planning permission for a \u00a390M steel-framed technology park in Oxford.
