{"id":19077,"date":"2015-02-03T00:05:35","date_gmt":"2015-02-03T00:05:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/?p=19077"},"modified":"2015-02-03T10:06:49","modified_gmt":"2015-02-03T10:06:49","slug":"bcsa-publishes-factory-lifting-guide-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/bcsa-publishes-factory-lifting-guide-2\/","title":{"rendered":"BCSA publishes factory lifting guide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/nSFLOG1502.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-19064\" src=\"http:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/nSFLOG1502.jpg\" alt=\"nSFLOG1502\" width=\"300\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/nSFLOG1502.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.newsteelconstruction.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/nSFLOG1502-215x300.jpg 215w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) has published a new Steelwork Factory Lifting Operations Guide for its membership.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">BCSA<\/a> Health and Safety committee members prepared the Guide, with the Health and Safety Executive being consulted and its comments were included during the drafting of the document.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis guide was developed to identify the good working practices for lifting operations in the steelwork <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelconstruction.info\/Fabrication\" target=\"_blank\">fabrication<\/a> environment,\u201d said BCSA Director of Health, Safety &amp; Training Peter Walker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDocumenting the good practices is necessary to enable the industry to demonstrate that it is maintaining a minimum standard and will enable the practices to be reviewed and amended as improvements are identified.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The document also gives guidance on how to identify when the toppling of stockpiled fabricated steelwork may be a risk and could benefit from additional arrangements to secure the components.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) has published a new Steelwork Factory Lifting Operations Guide for its membership.
