Steelwork contractor William
Hare has reported a 10% sales
rise to £158M for the year ending
31 December 2017. The company
also revealed a turnover of
£204.4M (2016: £217.8M) and
earnings before interest, tax,
depreciation and amortisation
(EBITDA) of £7M for the year,
which represents an EBITDA/
turnover margin of 3.5%.
Cleveland Bridge has reported
turnover of more than £50M
for its financial year ending 31
December 2017 – an increase
of more than £6M (12%) on the
previous year. The company
said the results mark its third
successive profitable year,
reflecting its continued success
in delivering widespread
improvements across the
business along with sustained
growth.
One year after the devastating
Grenfell Tower fire, the steel
sector has played its part in the
BBC’s DIY SOS: The Big Build
project to rebuild a community
hub and boxing club which were
both destroyed in the blaze.
Tata Steel donated structural
floor, roof and wall systems
as well as technical expertise,
while specialist metal decking
contractor Composite Profiles
supplied the on-site installation
expertise.
Trimble Solutions has
announced that the latest
versions of Tekla Structures,
Tekla Structural Designer and
Tekla Tedds are now available
for download. The 2018i version
updates are said to offer users
new features and enhancements
that increase efficiency, improve
workflows and provide better
documentation and a more fluid
working experience.
Developer and Asset Manager,
MEPC has appointed Wates
Construction as building
contractor for 4 Wellington
Place, the latest phase on the
fast-expanding Leeds city centre
development. The building
will provide 14,000m2 of grade
A, BREAAM ‘Excellent’ office
accommodation, including up
to 1,600m2 of ground floor retail
and leisure space.
Main contractor Interserve has
been appointed to carry out
work on the new steel composite
Princes Quay Bridge in Hull’s city
centre waterfront.
