Steel sector supports Saddlers’ FA Cup match

Barrett Steel Tubes were the sleeve sponsor for Walsall FC’s home FA Cup second round tie with Sunderland on Saturday.

The Saddlers game with their illustrious Wearside opponents, who have won the world’s oldest football tournament twice, ended 1-1, with a replay now scheduled for December 11th.

Barrett Steel Limited (Tubes Division) has been based nine miles from Walsall in Dudley since 1992. Part of the family-owned Barrett Steel Group, the Tubes Division is said to benefit from over 150 years of steel stockholding experience and caters for a wide range of tubular products, from offshore and marine grades all the way through to precision tubes.

Laser Tubes Manager Daniel Humphries said: “As a group we have five businesses based out of the West Midlands. Being a Walsall fan myself, it made me incredibly proud to support the club in their FA Cup ambitions.

“As a business, we are passionate about supporting the local communities we operate within across the UK. This partnership means a lot to the business, our colleagues and our customers, many of whom are long-standing Walsall fans themselves.”

Josh Davis, Walsall FC’s Commercial Manager, added: “It has been a pleasure to work with Daniel and his colleagues. This was an excellent deal for the club and we were very excited about the opportunity to work with Barrett Steel Group.

“It’s always great to work with local businesses and have them support the club on such opportunities. Hopefully, this is the start of a long-lasting relationship between Barrett Steel Group and Walsall Football Club that we can develop further over many years.”
