St Vincent Plaza celebrates shell and core completion
Shell and core completion has been reached on the steel-framed St Vincent Plaza office scheme in central Glasgow.
Constructed by main contractor Bowmer & Kirkland, the building is a landmark development, located on St Vincent Street within the International Financial Services District (IFSD) and opposite the new HQ for Scottish Power.
St Vincent Plaza delivers high specification and comprises a lower ground, ground and ten upper floors of office space together with 78 car parking spaces.
The building offers flexible, virtually column-free floorplates of 1,500m²; a feature penthouse office level with terrace, and some of the best views of the city of Glasgow. It has been designed to a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standard and an EPC ‘B’ rating and is said to provide some of the most efficient and environmentally friendly office accommodation in Glasgow.
The steel frame has been designed around a number of challenging parameters, including two feature cantilevers located on two of the main elevations. Both are one bay wide, with the southern element cantilevering out by 4.5m and the northern by 6m.
Working on behalf of main contractor Bowmer & Kirkland, BHC has erected 1,800t of steelwork for the project which will be completed in June 2015.
