SSDA October issue of New Steel Construction out now

The latest issue of New Steel Construction (NSC), featuring the Structural Steel Design Awards (SSDA), is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

The recently held 49th SSDA take centre stage in the current issue of NSC with project reports on all of the winning schemes, as well as news coverage from the event held at the Museum of London.

Five projects won Awards, The Leadenhall Building, London, which also picked up the first ever Project of the Year accolade, T-Pylon; LSQ London; HGV Egress Ramp, Selfridges, London; and Oriam, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.

Commendations consisted of: The Curve, Slough; West Croydon Bus Station; Central Square, Leeds; STIHL Treetop Walkway, Westonbirt, the National Arboretum; The Hurlingham Club Racquet Centre; and Watermark Westquay Footbridge, Southampton.

Merits were also awarded to: A400M MRO Facility, RAF Brize Norton; Wellcome Collection Dynamic Stair, London; Market Place Shopping Centre Redevelopment, Bolton; Waterford Fire Station; Layered Gallery, London; and Maxwell Centre, Cambridge.

NSC also features, as usual, industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
