SSDA October issue of New Steel Construction out now

The latest issue of New Steel Construction (NSC), featuring the 50th annual Structural Steel Design Awards (SSDA), is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

The recently held 50th SSDA take centre stage in the current issue of NSC with project reports on all of the winning schemes, as well as news coverage from the event held at Banqueting House, Whitehall in London.

Six projects won Awards: Bloomberg, London; Jaguar Land Rover Engine Manufacturing Centre; Knostrop Weir Foot and Cycle Bridge, Leeds; London Bridge Station; The Ordsall Chord Viaduct; and V&A’s Exhibition Road Quarter, London.

Eight Commendations consisted of: Approach Viaduct South, Queensferry Crossing; The Beacon of Light, Sunderland; Belfast Waterfront Conference & Exhibition Centre; Brooklands Museum Aircraft Factory and Racetrack Revival; Four Pancras Square, London; The Greenwich Peninsula Low Carbon Energy Centre; Somers Town Bridge, London; and Two St. Peter’s Square, Manchester.

Merits were awarded to: London Wall Place; Thirty Broadwick, London; 101 Embankment, Salford; Manchester Victoria Redevelopment; Seventy Wilson, London; Victoria Palace Theatre Refurbishment, London; Walkway Bridges, London Wall Place; and Walthamstow Wetlands.

NSC also features, as usual, industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and Codes and Standards updates.
