September issue of New Steel Construction out now

The latest issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

September’s cover story highlights the highly architectural steel crown that tops one of London’s tallest residential towers. Positioned at height of 154m, the crown supports the 47-storey high building’s balconies via a series of attached Macalloy bars.

Preston’s Victorian covered market hall is being renovated as part of a wider city centre regeneration scheme. The market hall project has married new steel-framed stalls within a restored wrought iron structure.

A mixed-use scheme consisting of student accommodation, an hotel as well as retail and leisure units will help to reinvigorate a section of Lime Street, Liverpool.

Steel construction was the only practical solution for the construction of a retirement village in Evesham, a building that requires numerous room configurations to be accommodated over seven floors.

NSC also reports on a new leisure centre in the Northern Ireland town of Newtownards, a project that highlights the local authority’s commitment to health and wellbeing.

In other features in this issue, Barrett Steel feature in a Steel for Life Headline Sponsor article and a Sector Focus reports on the steelmaking process

NSC also features, as usual, industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
