Season kicks off with Spurs stadium update
Having played its first home game of the season last Saturday Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has unveiled pictures of the new stadium under construction adjacent to the existing White Hart Lane ground.
Mace is the main contractor for the £400M project with structural steelwork to be fabricated, supplied and erected by Severfield.
The new stadium is starting to rise out of the ground, with works to the first floor slab well underway across the new north stand. Second floor construction in some areas has also commenced.
A spokesperson for the football club said: “As the new stadium starts to come out of the ground, more visible signs of progress will occur during the coming months, with the arrival of a new large crawler crane weighing around 400t.
“The crawler crane will be brought on site ready to manage the movement of the large rakers, which are the large beams that will support the terrace units and weigh up to 30t each.”
Due to open in time for the 2018-19 football season, the new stadium will have a capacity of 61,000, making it one of the largest grounds in the current Premier League.
