November/December issue of New Steel Construction out now

The latest issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

November/December’s cover story features the International Finance Centre Jersey, a project that will eventually deliver six office blocks for the banking sector in St Helier.

Continuing our journey around the UK’s outlying islands, NSC also reports from Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands. Here a new steel-framed hospital is under construction, a facility that will help to reduce the number of people having to travel to the mainland for routine care.

New council offices are being built in Colwyn Bay with steel construction providing the required cost efficient and quick programme. The scheme consists of a four-storey office block and a three-level, 354-space car park.

London’s world-famous Selfridges department store is in the midst of an ambitious redevelopment programme. Phase two, which will create a new entrance along Duke Street and larger store floorplates.

A renewable energy plant is being built in Sandwich, Kent, which includes a number of steel-framed buildings. The facility will have the capacity of 27.8MW and will be fired primarily with locally sourced woodchip.
