The November/December issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC, this is available at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

This month’s cover story is the residential Regent Plaza scheme in Salford. The first of five apartment blocks – the tallest of which will be 26-storeys – is underway and the entire development is due to complete in 2024.

Working in some of the most extreme conditions on earth, a new steel-framed wharf has been completed at the British Antarctic Survey’s Rothera Research Station. The facility has been made ready for the new research vessel RSS Sir David Attenborough.

The use of structural steelwork has proven to be the ideal framing solution for a new retirement village in Kent. The initial phase at Ledian Gardens will provide 66 apartments, alongside leisure and visiting facilities.

Glasgow’s largest and most ambitious office block has recently topped out. Forming the second part of the Bothwell Exchange development, 177 Bothwell Street will offer around 29,000m² of Grade A office space over 14-storeys.

Because of the layout and varying internal uses, a new distribution centre for the Coop has 18 different portal frames within its overall design. The centre measures 357m-long x 144m-wide and is due to be operational by June 2021.

NSC also features a Steel for Life: Gold Sponsor article, industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
