May issue of New Steel Construction out now

Posted on by in Weekly News

The May issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC, this is available at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

This month’s cover story is the 80 Charlotte Street project in Fitzrovia, London, where an exposed steel frame will create a bespoke architectural design for the mixed-use scheme.

NSC also features another London project where steelwork is being used as an architectural feature. Shepherdess Walk is a 1980s building that is being refurbished and enlarged with the aid of new fully-exposed steelwork elements.

In North Wales, a large twin-span portal frame will house a multi-million-pound research facility which is set to help collaboration between industry and academia.

The initial phase of a residential scheme that overlooks the Manchester Ship Canal has chosen a steel-framed solution for its two ship-shaped apartment blocks.

Steel has proven to be the ideal framing material for two multi-storey car parks in Sussex, which form integral parts of a town centre development and a university campus expansion.

NSC also features a Sector Focus article on protective coatings, industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
