Posted on by in Weekly News

The March issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC can find it at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

This month’s cover story is the One Crown Place mixed-use development in London, where 15 steel trusses support two residential towers and form the top part of a six-storey commercial podium.

Manchester Airport is undergoing a large-scale expansion programme that includes a number of steel-framed elements, including an extension to the existing Terminal 2, a new baggage hall, and a new pier and link bridge.

Also in Manchester, the city’s famous Hallé Orchestra is enlarging its rehearsal and recording facility by constructing a new steel-framed extension that will include acoustically-isolated practice rooms.

The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science is building an £18.3M contemporary and cost-efficient headquarters in Lowestoft. The building will feature an exposed steel frame throughout.

The Republic of Ireland’s national electricity grid is set to receive a boost once the latest renewable bio-energy plant, near Dublin, becomes operational later this year.

NSC also features industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
