Lindapter clips used at Hitachi train facility

Posted on by in Weekly News

Lindapter’s Type HD clips have been chosen to secure low speed rails at Hitachi’s Train Manufacturing and Assembly Plant in Newton Aycliffe, where the new InterCity Express (IEP) trains and AT200 commuter trains are being made.

The Type HD is said to have been specified due to its high resistance to lateral loads and lateral adjustability which allows a convenient installation process.

Size M20 Type HD Hard Clips have been used in multiple applications throughout the building. They secure tracks along the length of the 43,000m² facility to allow trains to be transported into different areas.

Contractors also used them to secure rails on the edges of work pits and on top of beams on plinths, allowing access to various heights of the train during the construction process. In addition to this, several rail lines were secured outside of the building.

The Lindapter Type HD is a family of four rail clips: ‘Spring’, ‘Soft’, ‘Hard’ and ‘Isolated’ all of which are said to facilitate quick and precise rail alignment by allowing a high degree of lateral adjustability.
