June issue of New Steel Construction out now

Posted on by in Weekly News

The latest issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC can find it at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

June’s cover story is the Beacon of Light project in Sunderland. An array of trusses have been installed to create this unique sports and education facility.

A steel-framed multi-storey car park forms the central element of Lincoln’s multi-million pound transport hub. Creating a new gateway to the city, the scheme also includes a new steel-framed bus station and a pedestrian plaza.

Structural steelwork has been used for the construction of a new high school in the West Lothian village of West Calder. Due to open in 2018, the school also houses community amenities, such as a swimming pool.

The latest phase of the Wellington Place scheme in Leeds city centre is under way. It is the third steel-framed commercial block to be constructed for the development so far.

Cost and flexibility played significant roles in the choice of a steel framing solution for the latest phase of Ashton-under-Lyne’s central redevelopment programme.

Steel for Life is once again highlighted in this month’s magazine with a Sector Focus article on steel manufacturing equipment, and a Headline Sponsor feature on ArcelorMittal.

NSC also features, as usual, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, industry news, and codes and standards updates.
