January issue of New Steel Construction out now

The January issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC, this is available at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

The first issue of 2019 has a cover story featuring 100 Liverpool Street, a project that represents one of the first phases of the Broadgate redevelopment in the City of London.

Two existing buildings have been partially demolished and knitted together with new steel elements to create a new landmark mixed-use structure.

In Aberdeen, a new student accommodation scheme has overcome a number of challenges, primarily how to erect three steel blocks around a retained Grade A listed church spire.

NSC highlights two distribution parks that are using steel construction to build new warehouses. Avonmouth Access 18, which is one of the South West’s largest distribution parks, is currently erecting its 15th unit.

Adjacent to East Midlands Airport, one of the UK’s first inland ports is being created, a site that will eventually offer half a million square metres of development plots for storage and distribution warehouses.

At London’s Waterloo Station, a new steel roof is being constructed to span a gap between the former Eurostar terminal and the original Victorian station canopy.

NSC also features a Steel for Life sector focus on steel bending, as well as the usual industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
