February issue of New Steel Construction out now

The February issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC, this is available at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

February’s cover story is the Donaldson’s project in Edinburgh, where a former school for the deaf is being converted into flats with the addition of an adjacent terrace of steel-framed apartments.

Overlooking Dublin’s River Liffey, NSC reports on a new commercial scheme at 1-6 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay. This development incorporates two historic structures and makes uses of a highly engineered cellular beam solution.

A new retail village is being constructed within the giant fabric topped O2 structure, a scheme that will complete the ring of outlets surrounding the famous arena.

The vast King’s Cross development in central London has made use of steel construction for a number of its new structures, NSC reports on Building S2, one of the latest commercial buildings to top-out.

In Whitehaven, Cumbria, a new steel-framed facility will house two local schools. Steel was chosen for this project for its flexibility and speed of construction.

Also in this issue, NSC features a Steel for Life sector focus on protective coatings, as well as the usual, industry news, technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
