BCSA new CEO appointment

The British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) has announced that Dr David Moore has been appointed its new Chief Executive Officer, following the resignation of the Director General Sarah McCann Bartlett.

BCSA President Tim Outteridge said: “David’s experience in and knowledge of the structural steelwork sector makes him the ideal person to lead BCSA into its next phase.

“David has held the position of Director of Engineering at BCSA for 15 years. He previously worked at the Building Research Establishment and holds a PHD in structural engineering.

“David has assisted the structural steelwork sector with key issues including the successful implementation of CE marking and Building Information Modelling.”

Dr Moore oversees many of BCSA’s committees and working groups, and he is Chairman of the BSI committee responsible for the UK’s input into the steel Eurocodes, the Execution standards for structural steel and the CE marking standard for fabricated structural steel.

Mr Outteridge added: “We are very much looking forward to working with David in his new role, which he will take up on 2 December”.
