April issue of New Steel Construction out now

Posted on by in Weekly News

The April issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC, this is available at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

April’s cover story is the historic Iron Bridge, the world’s first single span cast iron arch bridge, which is undergoing a major conservation programme.

In the second of NSC’s bridge articles, a weathering steel bridge that forms an important element of the Lincoln A15 Eastern Bypass is highlighted.

A new waterpark and leisure space in Rhyl, housed within two wedge-shaped halls, topped with wave-like roofs, will become the centrepiece of the town’s redeveloped seafront.

Carlisle Lake District Airport is constructing a new steel-framed terminal building which will allow the facility to recommence commercial flights this summer.

The flexibility of steelwork has come to the fore on the Circle Health hospital project in Edgbaston, Birmingham, where the steel frame has been designed to be enlarged if and when needed.

Also in this issue, NSC features the first in a series of articles celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Structural Steel Design Awards, a sector focus on light gauge steel, as well as the usual industry news, technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
