Annual Review of New Steel Construction published

NSCAnnualCov150129The best and most innovative project reports of the year, plus technical articles explaining the current issues affecting the steel construction sector are all contained within the New Steel Construction (NSC) Annual Review.

The publication is distributed with this week’s Construction News, Building Magazine and Architects Journal, and can also be viewed online at www.steelconstruction.info/Steel_construction_news

NSC Annual Review comprises a digest of the most important news items to appear in the magazine over the last 12 months. This is followed by a two-page review of last year’s prestigious Structural Steel Design Awards that were held at Madame Tussauds.

All of the major construction sectors in which structural steelwork is used are represented within the Annual Review.

Project features on the 18-storey Aldgate Tower and two eight-storey buildings in the St James’s area of London give an insight into the steel dominated UK commercial sector.

More than 90% of the UK’s distribution centres are constructed with a steel frame and the Annual Review highlights a £100M parcel hub in the East Midlands.

A large power station constructed in County Wexford, a college in Inverness, a hospital renovation project, the upgrading of London Bridge railway station, and student accommodation blocks in Salford are the other project features displaying steel’s broad appeal throughout the construction industry.

Technical articles from NSC on Embodied Carbon, Thermal Mass and CE Marking are included, as well as one on guidance on Costs.  All of these are topics on which guidance documents were published during the year and which can be downloaded free of charge at www.steelconstruction.info and here at www.newsteelconstruction.com
